About the position

The Broadcasting & Journalism Teacher will be responsible for planning and facilitating an extracurricular course focused on broadcasting and journalism for students ranging from elementary to high school. This part-time position emphasizes hands-on learning and project-based outcomes, such as developing a school news team or esports broadcasting program, under the supervision of the Director of Educational Development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate instructional sessions for broadcasting and journalism.
  • Develop a curriculum covering various topics including video editing, commentary, journalism, and streaming.
  • Work towards a project such as an internal school news team or esports broadcasting program.
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Educational Development to discuss progress and curriculum.
  • Model appropriate academic and social behaviors for students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Extensive teaching and/or tutoring experience.
  • Ability to work with students of diverse ethnic backgrounds, academic profiles, and skill levels.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, discretion, and flexibility.
  • Knowledge of basic academic content and skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to drive future instruction.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
