About the position

The Broker Dealer Accountant - Product Control position at TD Securities involves managing the accurate and timely reporting of IFRS and GAAP books and records for U.S. broker-dealers. The role focuses on the daily P&L process, month-end close coordination, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams, drive audits to completion, and assist in financial analysis and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily P&L process across different areas of Equity Markets.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and manage timely month-end close.
  • Review month-end balance sheet and income statement for respective product areas ensuring reconciliations are accurate with respect to correct GAAP and regulatory treatment.
  • Liaise with external and internal audit counterparts as well as operations and financial operations teams.
  • Analyze financial information focusing on control and addressing new reporting requirements.
  • Assist with integration planning and implementation as TD Cowen integrates with TDS.
  • Help implement new P&L attribution reporting.
  • Assist with controls over intercompany activity across TDS entities.
  • Prepare and hold monthly meetings with the Equities Business.
  • Provide commentary to Legal Entity, FP&A, and Regulatory Controllers on P&L and Balance Sheet variances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance
  • 2+ years of post-undergraduate experience preferred
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of derivatives
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of subledger systems (BPS/Impact) is a plus
  • Ability to work within deadlines while providing a high-quality work product

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in finance
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with various teams
