About the position

The Hematology/Oncology Physician position is a permanent role within a non-profit healthcare system located in Bronx, New York. The physician will work primarily in an outpatient setting, with a focus on treating an underserved population. The role offers a balanced mix of hematology and oncology responsibilities, with a flexible schedule that allows for part-time work if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care in hematology and oncology, primarily in an outpatient setting.
  • Manage a patient load of approximately 15 patients per day.
  • Participate in weekend call on a 1:4 basis, primarily through telephonic communication from home.
  • Collaborate with a team of five other physicians and a benign hematologist.
  • Utilize the EMR system AllScripts for patient documentation and management.

Requirements

  • Board certified or truly board eligible in hematology/oncology.
  • Ability to work 4.5 days a week clinically, with 0.5 day reserved for administrative tasks.
  • Willingness to work part-time if desired, with a minimum of 2 days a week.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in treating underserved populations.
  • Familiarity with infusion center operations.
