About the position

The BSA/AML Quality Assurance Analyst at WaFd Bank is responsible for testing the design and effectiveness of processes and controls related to BSA/AML and OFAC compliance. This role involves collaboration with various business lines to ensure compliance with regulations and to uphold the bank's values of kindness and service.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, and assist in compliance testing for BSA/AML and OFAC regulations.
• Prepare clear and organized testing work papers to document and support work performed.
• Address open issues arising from testing and ensure action plans are implemented.
• Draft detailed reports that articulate review results and necessary remedial actions.
• Organize management information relating to testing reviews, issues identified, and progress against plans.
• Undertake ad-hoc projects as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager or BSA Officer.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
• 3-5 years of financial services experience, preferably in Audit or Testing roles.
• Relevant industry qualifications in AML (ACAMS) preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ownership of tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Superior writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• AML, KYC, Sanctions, Compliance or Investigative background preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in financial services compliance roles.
• Familiarity with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act.
