About the position

The BSA Analyst at Dart Bank is responsible for monitoring customer accounts and transactions to identify suspicious activities, ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. This role involves assisting the BSA Officer in enforcing policies, conducting investigations, and maintaining compliance with federal regulations to protect the bank from illegal activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist BSA Officer in enforcing the BSA policy, including Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
  • Monitor Traditional and Specialty Banking accounts for suspicious activity.
  • Coordinate SAR filings with the BSA Team Lead.
  • Notify the BSA Team Lead of suspicious activity and assist in research.
  • Proficiently use Shield Compliance and AML Software.
  • Develop procedures for new products or services to ensure compliance with CIP.
  • Review routine reports to identify suspicious activity.
  • Assist in staff training for BSA/AML compliance.
  • Participate in training for personal development.
  • Document and report possible irregularities immediately.
  • File required CTRs within 15 days of the transaction.
  • Maintain records of CTRs returned by IRS for incompleteness and corrections.
  • Monitor Phase II Exemptions for suspicious activity.
  • Facilitate outside audits with BSA Officer or Team Lead.
  • Stay updated on regulatory BSA changes and inform the BSA Officer or Team Lead.
  • Participate in the bank's Compliance Committee.
  • Attend seminars and classes to update knowledge of BSA and banking compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Two years of experience in banking or related fields, preferably in BSA, accounting, or audit work.
  • Strong writing skills and analytical abilities.
  • Good math aptitude and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Shield Compliance and AML Software.
  • Previous experience in BSA, accounting, or audit work.
