The Finance Manager for the Business Unit (BU) at Republic Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance functions of the operation. This includes managing critical areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and the Monthly Close process. The Finance Manager acts as a business partner to the General Manager of the business unit, ensuring that financial processes are efficient and effective in supporting the unit's goals for profitable growth and margin expansion. The role requires a strong focus on business analysis to drive durable business processes and improve overall financial performance. In this position, the Finance Manager will lead and manage the general finance staff, ensuring that all team members are trained, supervised, and mentored effectively. The role also involves maintaining the general ledger and supporting documentation, as well as establishing and monitoring internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP and corporate requirements. The Finance Manager will provide key performance measure reporting to enhance the profitability and productivity of the Business Unit, ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet and conducting monthly reconciliations. Additionally, the Finance Manager will manage capital expenditures and oversee the Accounts Payable process, which includes purchasing, receiving, and invoice processing. The role requires conducting variance analysis and providing support for divisional management, coordinating with Sales for proposal reviews and pricing model updates, and leading the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes. The Finance Manager will also coordinate with internal and external auditors and support the Operations Manager and Supervisors in operational process design and training. Identifying areas for improvement through streamlining and automating accounting processes is also a key responsibility of this role, along with performing other duties and projects as assigned.
