About the position

As a Bucket Operator at Gunnison Company, you will play a crucial role in tree and vegetation management, specifically focusing on clearing and removing trees along electrical power lines and right-of-ways. This position requires operating an aerial lift device to safely reach and manage branches that interfere with electric lines, ensuring safety and efficiency in a potentially hazardous environment.

Responsibilities

• Remove branches and tree material.
• Operate the bucket near energized lines.
• Clean up and dispose of all debris.
• Operate and service equipment such as gasoline, hydraulic tools, power saws, power winches, buckets, chippers, and sprayers.
• Use hand tools like axes, hand lines, saws, block and tackle, pruners, etc.
• Spray brush and stumps, making proper and selective application of herbicides.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc., to protect employees and the public.
• Perform other related work as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• Must be able to wear necessary PPE.
• Experience in warehouse, laborer, tree service, or general labor roles.
• Must withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments.
• Must be able to lift, move, and maneuver heavy weights of 10 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds infrequently.
• Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
• 6 months of verifiable experience is preferred.
• A CDL License / Valid Driver's License is preferred.
