About the position

The Budget Analyst position within the Office of School Financial Services is responsible for managing and analyzing financial data related to school funding. This role involves program administration, compliance verification, and extensive reporting for funds allocated to sub-grantees by the Louisiana Department of Education. Responsibilities

• Monitor and forecast revenues and expenditures to identify trends and potential funding problems.
• Prepare required reports and financial statements, including data compilation and analysis.
• Propose alternatives to spending and revisions in authorized budgets.
• Review, project, report, and propose changes to performance indicators.
• Prepare budget adjustment forms as necessary to draw or transfer funds.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree or six years of full-time work experience in any field as a substitute for the degree.
• Ability to manage budgets effectively and be a good steward of state resources.
• Proficiency in using relevant data to inform recommendations for action.
• Experience working with financial information to guide organizational financial standing.
• Ability to accept and follow directions from higher authority.
• Decisiveness in making quick and effective decisions.
• Effective communication skills to relay information appropriately.
