About the position

The Budget Analyst 3 position within the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is responsible for assisting management in developing and administering the operating and capital budgets for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS). This role involves professional budget analysis, providing technical guidance, and coordinating reporting activities to ensure effective budget management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer operating and capital budgets for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS).
• Provide professional budget analysis and technical guidance to management.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly reporting activities related to the budget.
• Serve as the contact for the development and reporting of AMHS's key performance initiatives.
• Assist in problem-solving and making recommendations related to budgetary issues.

Requirements

• One year of full-working professional level experience analyzing and reviewing budgetary data and information; preparing analysis, reports, and recommendations on budgetary information; and utilizing electronic information management systems.
• Two years of full-working level professional experience in accounting or auditing; financial management, budget analysis, management, or projection/forecasting; or conducting research, analysis, and interpretation of economic, budgetary, and fiscal information.
• Two years of experience as a business executive or manager establishing and implementing policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
