About the position

The Budget Analyst 3 position at the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is responsible for developing and administering the operating and capital budgets for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS). This role involves providing professional budget analysis, technical guidance, and consultation to management, as well as coordinating reporting activities related to key performance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer operating and capital budgets for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS).
• Provide professional budget analysis and technical guidance to management.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly reporting activities with managers.
• Serve as the contact for the development and reporting of AMHS's key performance initiatives.
• Assist management with problem-solving analysis and budget-related recommendations.

Requirements

• One year of full-working professional level experience analyzing and reviewing budgetary data and information; preparing analysis, reports, and recommendations on budgetary information; and utilizing electronic information management systems.
• Two years of full-working level professional experience in accounting or auditing; financial management, budget analysis, management, or projection/forecasting; or conducting research, analysis, and interpretation of economic, budgetary, and fiscal information.
• Two years of experience as a business executive or manager establishing and implementing policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
