About the position

The Budget Analyst 4 position at the Iowa Department of Transportation is a strategic financial leadership role focused on budget development and administration. The selected candidate will play a crucial part in managing the department's substantial fiscal resources, which include an annual operations budget of nearly $500 million and a state highway improvement program budget of approximately $1 billion. This role involves creating financial management reports, assisting in the annual budget request, and providing detailed financial analysis for operational areas within the department.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, and five years of full-time work experience in professional budget analysis or fiscal management
• Nine years of full-time work experience in professional budget analysis or fiscal management
• A total of nine years of education and/or full-time experience, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in accounting, finance, or business administration equals one year of full-time experience
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Budget Analyst 3 or two years of full-time work as a Budget Analyst 2
