Responsibilities

• Assist managers in identifying optimal use of state fiscal resources.
• Create regular financial management reports.
• Assist in assembling the department's annual budget request.
• Enter the department budget into state and department accounting systems.
• Provide detailed financial analysis for a significant segment of the department's operational budget.
• Conduct financial research and analysis.
• Project cash flow and create financial reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, and five years of full-time work in professional budget analysis or fiscal management.
• Nine years of full-time work experience in professional budget analysis or fiscal management.
• A total of nine years of education and/or full-time experience, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in accounting, finance, or business administration equals one year of full-time experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Budget Analyst 3 or two years of full-time work as a Budget Analyst 2.
