The Budget Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the program budget and looking for ways to use resources more efficiently. This role involves identifying budget issues that need to be addressed, notifying management, and making recommendations for new budgeting strategies. Candidates will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions. The Budget Analyst will gather and organize financial data from all accounting departments, compile and analyze financial reports to ensure their accuracy, manage the general ledger, and devote time to risk management, especially with regard to accounts receivable. Additionally, the analyst will prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions so that the government understands all costs and will forecast models for revenue changes and expenditure increases or decreases.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and organize financial data from all accounting departments.
  • Compile and analyze financial reports to ensure their accuracy.
  • Manage the general ledger and devote time to risk management, especially with regard to accounts receivable.
  • Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions so the government understands all costs.
  • Forecast models for revenue changes and expenditure increases/decreases.

Requirements

  • Must have an active, current Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, OR Associate's degree plus ten (10) years of recent specialized experience, OR fifteen (15) years of recent specialized experience.
  • Six (6) years of recent specialized experience in finance.
  • Results-oriented and process-driven.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with diverse audiences, internally and externally to foster strong teamwork.
  • Work well independently or as a member of a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
