About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance support team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting Federal Budget Development and execution decision-making through data collection, analysis, and reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of the federal government's budget execution process, financial principles, and the ability to utilize various financial software and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various budget functions involving the formulation, justification, and/or execution of budgets for federal government organizations, programs, or projects.
  • Review, analyze, edit, and consolidate General Fund budget submission data along with preparing and analyzing data for budget exhibits.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of federal financial management and procurement procedures and controls, using them with technological systems to meet control requirements and increase Agency efficiency.
  • Analyze supported organizations' budgetary guidance.
  • Attend briefings and conferences to justify and defend budget estimates, program and resource requirements, and appropriation requests.
  • Identify and resolve assigned organization budgetary problems with creativity and ingenuity.
  • Prepare budgetary reports and other deliverables in preparation for budget briefings.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and maintain budget/financial systems (Oracle Financials) and interfaces for agency-wide application.
  • Assist in developing budget/program processes, procedures, and guidance for executing financial management plans and programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in federal budget execution and development.
  • Experience using Treasury G-invoicing and Oracle Financials.
  • Knowledge of Federal Government and OMB Budget Formulation and execution guidelines.
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting practices.
  • Excellent data visualization skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in VBA for automating tasks and improving reporting processes is advantageous.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $43 to $49 per hour.
  • Full-time temporary contract position with expected hours of 40 - 45 per week.
