The Budget Analyst II position within the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is a critical role that involves providing comprehensive budget development, analysis, and management support for the Division of Child Welfare (DCW). This position is responsible for tracking expenditures, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with state fiscal and procurement rules. The analyst will work closely with program managers and administrators to develop collaborative relationships that facilitate effective budget and contract preparation. The role requires a strong understanding of government accounting and budgeting processes, as well as the ability to analyze data for abnormalities and variances in budget allocations. In addition to budget management, the analyst will draft solicitations and provide procurement support for goods and services purchases related to assigned budgets and projects. This includes monitoring revenue and expenditures throughout the fiscal year to identify compliance or fiduciary concerns and providing guidance to leadership on resource management. The analyst will also be tasked with analyzing proposed legislation and performing economic and fiscal analysis to assess the impact of external actions on DCW and its partnerships. This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence two days a week, and is open only to Colorado state residents.
