About the position

The Budget Analyst IV in Performance Management will be responsible for developing and implementing a system to monitor citywide performance measures through an outcome-based budgeting process. This role focuses on aligning the City's resources with results that matter to citizens, ensuring effective budgetary decisions, and providing strategic recommendations based on performance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a system to monitor citywide performance measures using an outcome-based budgeting process.
  • Assist with the implementation process of outcome-based budgeting, including system and process design.
  • Coordinate with department staff to develop and update performance measures.
  • Review, monitor, and analyze departmental performance measures compared to the annual operating budget.
  • Research and analyze industry best practices for outcome-based budgeting implementation.
  • Participate in the design, selection, and implementation phases of the new budgeting system.
  • Assist in the strategic alignment of resources and performance tracking to ensure compliance with the City's goals.
  • Provide documentation and reports on performance measures assessments to management.
  • Analyze budget requests and funding allocations to ensure alignment with performance measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Four years of professional experience in finance, budget analysis, economics, or a closely related field.
  • A Master's Degree may substitute for two years of experience.
