About the position

The Budget Analyst IV at Olgoonik Corporation is responsible for performing a variety of advanced accounting and budgetary activities specifically related to staffing and training programs within the Foreign Affairs Training Center (FASTC). This role requires a deep understanding of financial matters and the ability to analyze and project future revenues and expenses. The analyst will work closely with outside agencies and advise customers on financial matters, ensuring that all budgetary processes are adhered to and optimized for efficiency. In this position, the Budget Analyst will analyze budgets and financial data, compile data for financial reports, and compute financial data while consulting with managerial or supervisory personnel. The role also involves formulating budgets, drafting or maintaining budgeting databases, and making presentations on financial matters to various stakeholders. Monitoring the operational budget and processing invoices for payment are also key responsibilities. The analyst is expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative on a daily basis, requiring infrequent supervision. The position does not include supervisory responsibilities, allowing the analyst to focus on their core financial duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities to effectively interface with Department of State personnel and other government agencies at all levels. The role demands the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, as well as experience working with databases and basic accounting skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years relevant experience or three (3) years with a Master's degree.
  • Two (2) years as a Budget Analyst III or equivalent experience.
  • Must be highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of office policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint) and solid Excel experience is a must.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting skills is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Completion of appropriations law course training.
  • Department of State experience preferred.
