About the position

The position involves coordinating the exchange of civilian payroll and budgetary information with various government and civilian agencies. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing civilian payroll and budget schedules, as well as statistical and narrative documentation. It is crucial to ensure that all civilian payroll and budgeting activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies. The role requires reviewing civilian payroll and budget execution to identify any funding shortfalls within assigned programs. Additionally, the incumbent will analyze historical data related to civilian payroll to identify trends and assess funding requirements, ensuring that the utilization of funds is appropriate and consistent with prior performances. Management will rely on the incumbent to provide accurate financial information, including reports that detail the status of obligations and expenditures of funds. This position is classified under the Department of Defense (DOD) Financial Management category, and the incumbent must complete training and achieve certification at Level 2 within two years of appointment. A Secret security clearance is also required for this role, and the incumbent must be able to maintain this clearance throughout their employment. The position may involve occasional Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel, and a one-year probationary period may be applicable unless previously met under federal regulations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Completion of training and certification at Level 2 within 2 years of appointment.
  • One year of specialized experience analyzing financial data and monitoring budget execution for GS-11 level.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a relevant field for GS-11 level.
  • One year of specialized experience reviewing budget guidance and preparing financial statements for GS-12 level.
