About the position

The Budget Analyst Lead will oversee the Budget & Reporting team within Facilities & Operations, managing an annual operating budget of approximately $200M. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly, and a strategic mindset to provide actionable insights across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a hands-on approach to financial management and a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analyses of monthly financial results and budget variances, focusing on identifying trends and generating insights.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to prepare and present comprehensive monthly financial assessments to F&O partners.
  • Offer expert guidance to financial partners on budget-related matters, including annual and monthly budgeting, capital planning, and cost containment strategies.
  • Spearhead the annual year-end certification financial processes and conduct in-depth analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with financial leadership to analyze potential strategies and contribute to ongoing financial planning efforts.
  • Assist with various special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong financial management skills in budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, particularly Business Objects, with demonstrated skill in creating data queries and reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of budgeting and variance analysis, with extensive experience using spreadsheets and complex databases.
  • Highly proactive with strong problem-solving skills and a high sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills, with the ability to recognize and investigate data anomalies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of summarizing and presenting complex financial information clearly.
