About the position

The Budget Analyst position at the University of California, Davis involves providing administration and analysis for contract and grant pre- and post-awards within the BFTV Cluster. This role supports various departments by managing complex proposals and funding sources, ensuring compliance, and preparing detailed financial reports. The analyst will work independently to handle budget preparation, review, analysis, and forecasting for extramural budgets, contributing to the financial health of the academic departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide administration and analysis for contract and grant pre- and post-awards.
• Serve as compliance officer and resource advisor for proposal submissions.
• Manage pre-award processes for grants and contracts.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for large academic departments.
• Gather and analyze financial data from various revenue streams.
• Prepare, review, and forecast extramural budgets.

Requirements

• Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Experience with federal, state, and private grant budget preparation.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with coordination of complex projects in a large organization.
• Familiarity with UC Davis campus financial applications and policies.
• Knowledge of cost allocation methodology.
