About the position

The Senior Budget Analyst position at Booz Allen is a critical role that involves navigating the complexities of funding allocation within a large organization. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for developing a financial management strategy that supports the Army's objectives. This includes creating actionable plans to secure necessary funding and ensuring that resources are utilized effectively. You will gain valuable experience in understanding the laws, regulations, and policies that govern funding, which will enable you to assist clients in formulating well-defined requirements. In this role, you will be tasked with monitoring the execution of the approved operating budget, ensuring that funds are allocated properly and spent in a timely manner. You will compile both narrative and statistical materials, preparing exhibits and background information for program briefings. Your responsibilities will also include providing program management and acquisition support, as well as preparing essential documents for processing budget estimates, requests for supplemental appropriations, and reprogramming apportionments. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your financial analysis skills while contributing to the success of the Army's financial management efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a financial management strategy to support the Army's objectives.
  • Create actionable plans to secure necessary funding for client goals.
  • Monitor the execution of the approved operating budget to ensure proper allocation and timely spending of funds.
  • Compile narrative and statistical materials for program briefings and prepare related exhibits.
  • Provide program management and acquisition support as needed.
  • Prepare documents for processing budget estimates and requests for supplemental appropriations.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of budget requests and explore alternative funding sources.
  • Recommend adjustments within budget line items based on program changes or funding availability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience providing acquisition support to an ACAT-1 DoD program.
  • Experience preparing documents for budget estimates and requests for appropriations.
  • Experience with planning, monitoring, and executing life cycle program plans.
  • Ability to formulate and present annual and multi-year budget estimates.
  • Experience in performing in-depth analysis of budget requests and unforeseen factors.
  • Ability to monitor budget execution and ensure proper allocation of funds.
  • Experience in recommending budget adjustments based on program changes.
  • Ability to develop justification and impact statements for budget forecasting.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
