The Senior Budget Analyst at Foothill-De Anza Community College District plays a crucial role in preparing and maintaining the District's annual operating budget. Responsibilities

  • Establishes the District's annual operating budget and monitors it on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs complex professional accounting duties and financial analysis for assigned funds and accounts.
  • Conducts budget to actual variance analysis and identifies variances.
  • Calculates, codes, posts, and adjusts journal entries; updates accounts to reflect revenue and expenditures.
  • Monitors and processes transfers between funding sources.
  • Prepares and audits financial and statistical reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
  • Provides assistance in budget preparation and analysis for other departments.
  • Trains District personnel on budget preparation policies and procedures.
  • Adapts accounting functions to computerized systems and analyzes financial transactions for accuracy.
  • Ensures compliance with board policies and regulations related to budgeting and accounting.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible accounting or budget analysis experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of governmental accounting practices and procedures, fund accounting, and fiscal management.

Nice-to-haves
