About the position

The Budget Analyst (Temporary) at Partners for Rural Impact plays a crucial role in providing analytical support for grant budgets, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and assisting in financial reporting. This position is focused on supporting the organization's mission to ensure success for all children in rural areas by managing budget transactions, conducting training, and collaborating with project directors to optimize financial resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provides analytical support for multiple grant budgets and meets regularly with Project Directors to provide budget projections and discuss planned costs.
  • Conducts training with partners and staff regarding budgetary and grant expenditure requirements.
  • Compiles financial data and collaborates with the Director to prepare financial reports for annual reporting purposes.
  • Reviews expenditures to ensure compliance with college policy and federal regulations.
  • Ensures accounting records of grants are reconciled with PRI financial records.
  • Monitors federal match from partners and ensures compliance with guidelines.
  • Uses knowledge of Federal Regulations to make recommendations regarding allowable costs.
  • Performs sub-recipient monitoring activities and conducts annual financial visits.
  • Oversees departmental usage of purchasing cards and project costs.
  • Reviews and manages monthly travel reports from staff for compliance and completeness.
  • Develops forms and processes to support compliance with federal budget management regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field.
  • 2 - 3 years financial and/or budgetary experience.
