About the position

Amentum is seeking a dynamic and agile Budget Analyst to provide analysis and planning support to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Operations Directorate at Camp Smith, Hawaii. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of budget and travel requirements, ensuring that the Directorate can meet its operational needs effectively. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and possesses the ability to work independently to achieve objectives. You will interface with personnel at all levels of the command, from newly reporting personnel to senior civilian and military leaders, making strong communication skills essential. As a Budget Analyst, you will work under the direction of the Directorate Resource Manager (RM) to provide comprehensive budget analysis and resource management support. Your responsibilities will include supporting division leaders in the completion of various funding documents, such as the Standard Form 182 for training authorization and the DD Form 1610 for temporary duty travel. You will analyze the quarterly execution status for each Line of Accounting (LOA) that the J3 Directorate is responsible for, providing recommendations on the allocation of quarterly funds based on current obligations and anticipated requirements for future quarters. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the next Fiscal Year (FY) budget, assist in the collection and review of annual budget submissions, and provide guidance to division leaders throughout the budgeting process. Your analytical skills will be crucial in ensuring that the Directorate's financial resources are managed effectively and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide budget analysis and resource management support under the direction of the Directorate Resource Manager (RM).
  • Assist division leaders in completing Standard Form 182 and DD Form 1610 for training and travel authorization, ensuring compliance with Joint Travel Regulation (JTR).
  • Analyze quarterly execution status for each Line of Accounting (LOA) and recommend fund loading into appropriate Object Classification Codes.
  • Provide budget development input and analysis for the next Fiscal Year (FY) budget, Unfunded Requirements (UFRs), and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submission packages.
  • Guide division leaders in the collection and review of annual budget and semi-annual POM submission information from all J3 Divisions.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience supporting government travel requirements, including DTS administration and government travel credit card administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience at a Combatant Command, Service Component, TYCOM, or TYCOM support staff.
  • Experience in writing reports, graphics, and information papers.
  • Experience analyzing financial data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Indo-Pacific Area of Operations.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance.
