The Budget Analyst position within the Department of Defense involves managing and advising on budget execution for the Army Reserve. Responsibilities

• Serve as a Budget Analyst within the Budget Execution Branch.
• Advise senior management on issues affecting assigned appropriation programs.
• Interpret legislation and directives related to Army Reserve appropriations.
• Provide policy and procedural guidance on the use of appropriated funds.
• Analyze estimates to identify imbalances and reconcile expenditures.
• Oversee analysis of program and budget guidance to assess impacts on operations.
• Evaluate budget execution continuously to identify and resolve issues.
• Interpret complex legislative guidance affecting the budget and programs.
• Present program and budget briefings to senior officials.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience in budget preparation and execution.
• Experience interpreting complex legislative and regulatory policy guidance.
• Ability to develop strategies for budget presentation and execution.
• Experience analyzing narrative and statistical material for budget recommendations.
