About the position

As a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-14 level within the Department of Defense, you will play a critical role in managing resource allocations and ensuring the effective oversight of financial management procedures and processes. Your primary responsibilities will include prioritizing funding requirements and executing Security Cooperation programs through the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) platform. You will be expected to utilize your analytical and decision support skills to manage appropriated resources effectively, thereby supporting the Security Cooperation mission of the Department of Defense. In this position, you will be tasked with conducting extensive analyses of budgetary guidelines, policies, legislation, and regulations. This will involve developing recommendations for unplanned or unfunded requirements and making necessary funding adjustments. Your expertise in financial management, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting will be essential as you navigate complex programs related to government program funds. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Department of Defense's financial management certification requirements, which are a condition of employment for this role. The position requires a full-time commitment, with occasional travel and a flexible tour of duty. Responsibilities

  • Managing resource allocations by prioritizing funding requirements
  • Examination and oversight of financial management procedures and processes
  • Executing Security Cooperation programs via the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) platform
  • Exercising analytical and decision support skills for select DoD appropriated resources to support the Security Cooperation mission
  • Conducting extensive analysis of budgetary guidelines, policies, legislation, and regulations to develop recommendations for unplanned/unfunded requirements and funding adjustments.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service
  • Performing and managing complex programs related to financial management, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting of government program funds
  • Experience in conducting extensive analysis of budgetary guidelines, policies, legislation, and regulations.
