The Budget Analyst position within the Department of Health and Human Services, specifically in the Office of Environmental Health and Engineering's Division of Sanitation Facilities Construction (IHS-DSFC), offers a unique opportunity to contribute positively to public health initiatives. This role is pivotal in supporting the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities in partnership with American Indian Tribes. As a Budget Analyst, you will be responsible for a variety of analytical duties related to budget formulation and execution, which are essential for the successful operation of the Division. In this role, you will compile factual information and quantitative data to prepare regular and ad hoc reports that present information such as the status of funds, expenditures, and obligations. You will maintain databases, budget systems, registers, and other automated systems that record budget data and track budget activities. Your contributions will extend to the preparation of budget estimates and justifications by extracting and presenting current and historical data. Additionally, you will provide information and assistance to program managers regarding the requirements and acceptability of routine budget documents, while also monitoring, reviewing, and reconciling commitments, obligations, and expenditures. This position is open to Native Americans and Alaskan Natives with tribal affiliation, as well as U.S. Citizens and Nationals.
