About the position

The Budget Analyst position involves performing a variety of substantive budgeting functions for the U.S. National Park Service. The role includes developing budget program summaries, maintaining control records, analyzing financial records, and assisting with the execution of the current year budget. This is a term position expected to last at least 13 months, with the possibility of extension based on regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of substantive budgeting functions.
  • Develop budget program and planning summaries.
  • Establish and maintain current and functional control records of allocation and authorizations.
  • Analyze and summarize financial records.
  • Assist with execution of the current year budget for the unit, including analysis of needs, recommendations for modifications, and making allotments.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal service, or a master's degree in a related field, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to communicate detailed financial information through written documents and reports.

  • Experience with financial management and budget analysis.
