Responsibilities

• Develop the University budget and complete the report of actuals.
• Validate budgets for procurement and prepare analytical budget reports.
• Monitor, report, and bill for capital outlay projects.
• Perform analysis functions for operating, capital, and grant budgets.
• Provide direction and support to college leaders in understanding financial reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of work assignments.
• Perform general accounting duties including budget review and file maintenance.
• Analyze proposed and final legislation funding.
• Reconcile budgeted and actual revenues/expenditures.
• Review departmental budgets and verify funding availability.
• Prepare budget/expenditure analysis and fiscal reports as required.
• Complete year-end budgeting tasks.
• Collaborate with ENMU-Portales Budget Analyst on budget items and issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business.
• 3 years of experience related to the position or a combination of experience and education.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and application.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
• Advanced skills in account balancing and reconciling.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel functions and formulas.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare reports.
• Ability to complete moderately complex assignments.
