The Budget Analyst position at Johns Hopkins University within the Department of Health, Behavior and Society (HBS) is a vital role that supports the financial management of grants and contracts for faculty members. The analyst will manage travel reimbursements for faculty and staff, prepare payroll and non-payroll cost transfers, and track financial documents from creation to payment, troubleshooting any issues that arise. A key aspect of this position is ensuring that all expenses are allowable and allocable, maintaining thorough documentation for all transactions. The Budget Analyst will also engage in finance and grant administration tasks, which include monthly verification and reconciliation of departmental accounts, matching receipts to statements, and following up on outstanding items. They will assist in monitoring the expenditure of non-sponsored funds, identify budget issues, and provide alternative solutions in coordination with the Business Office. The role requires proficiency in SAP and Excel to prepare financial reports and analyses, including detailed budget summaries for review.
