About the position

The Budget Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and reporting on budgets for Information Technology and other projects for a Federal Government Client. This position requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in financial data management to ensure effective budget development and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop budgets and monitor financial status of projects.
  • Gather data from financial and contract systems and consolidate invoice data.
  • Forecast expenditures and conduct variance analysis.
  • Build presentations to explain funding status and analysis to stakeholders.
  • Interview clients to define budget requirements and develop cost estimates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related fields with a minimum of six years of related experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to build PowerPoint presentations for budget status communication.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Experience in establishing, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting project budgets.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working for a government agency or contractor.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and IT hardware.
  • Experience in procurement, consulting, and Information Technology.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI.
