About the position

The Budget Analyst position at Amentum involves providing comprehensive support to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) in various financial management capacities. The role focuses on analyzing, advising, and assisting in the preparation and execution of budgets, ensuring compliance with established procedures and organizational objectives. The analyst will work closely with government project leads to enhance efficiency and support the missions of the FLAIR office.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, advises, and provides technical assistance in preparing budgets.
• Reviews proposed financial plans for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
• Seeks new ways to improve efficiency and lower costs.
• Employs cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests and assess program trade-offs.
• Examines past and current budgets and researches economic developments affecting budget expenditures.
• Evaluates budgets in terms of organizational priorities and financial resources.
• Assists in preparation and justification of budget requests.
• Analyzes accounting records to determine financial resources required for program implementation.
• Submits recommendations for budget allocations.
• Recommends approval or disapproval of requests for funds.
• Advises staff on cost analysis.
• Performs various budget functions involving formulation, justification, and execution of budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business discipline.
• 1-10+ years of experience in budgeting or financial analysis.
• 8 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
