Responsibilities

  • Formulate, justify, and present all Bureau of Prisons' budgets.
  • Translate raw budget data into required budget forms and exhibits.
  • Prepare special financial, budget, and project analyses for Bureau programs.
  • Plan, organize, and carry out annual and multi-year budgeting.
  • Provide expert advice on all phases of appropriated fund budgeting to program managers.
  • Report actuals and prepare estimates of position, work year, budget authority, obligation, and outlay requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
  • Knowledge of the formulation, justification, and presentation requirements of budget submissions.
  • Experience in applying advanced analytical knowledge to budget presentations.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and apply budget principles, procedures, and regulations.
