About the position

The Budget Analyst at Voigt Peters Associates LLC will support federal clients in financial management, budget execution, analysis, planning, reporting, and portfolio management. This role involves operational and analytical functions to aid in the design, coordination, implementation, and communication of the client's planning and programming responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in all areas related to the federal budget process.
  • Aid the Federal Client in preparing budget requirements, formulation, execution, analysis, presentation, and reporting.
  • Provide program management support to assist with the development of strategic policy, program management plans, processes, and systems.
  • With government oversight, aid with budget preparation, formulation, execution, analysis, presentation, and reporting.
  • Prepare planning, programming, funding, budgetary, and financial documentation and distribute to stakeholders using appropriate proprietary systems.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are aware of task assignments and that tailored responses to complex inquiries from Senior Leadership are timely and compliant.
  • Work with various stakeholder offices to collect and prioritize short and long-range requirements.
  • Develop corresponding financial plans and forecasts to facilitate efficient allocation of funds.
  • Upload data, maintain data, track expenditures, review and prepare financial information, and report on financial data in all systems of record.
  • Monitor expenditures, conduct analysis of spending patterns, provide routine reports on funding status, and advise on efficiencies and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare planning, programming, and budgetary documents in adherence to Client's reporting rhythms.
  • Complete/assist with reporting requirements mandated by Congress, DHS, and/or CBP.
  • Provide reports and analysis regarding Service Entry Sheet creation/invoicing, SAP transactions, and financial tasker responses.
  • Assess and review the impact of new and revised congressional legislation on program budgets and provide authoritative interpretations.
  • Leverage tools such as Power BI, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint to produce dashboards and flowcharts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Experience with Power BI database management and maintenance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, Power Apps, and Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
  • Ability to manage and timely complete internal recurring deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to foster partnership with various stakeholders
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice-to-haves

  • Active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation or active clearance preferred
