About the position

The Budget Analyst position at the Haskell Health Center under the Division of Administration of the Haskell Service Unit is primarily responsible for preparing and maintaining the Service Unit's annual budget. This role involves coordinating the formulation of budget projections and adjustments while ensuring compliance with internal controls to meet budget plan goals. The analyst will utilize historical data of recurring costs and recommendations submitted by Service Unit management and department heads to formulate projections on program activities. The position requires effective maintenance of fund control procedures, including a commitment register of Object Classes for each department, updated daily for each program. Additionally, the analyst will prepare diverse financial status reports that reflect and disclose any discrepancies negatively affecting budget implementation and achievements by both Program Managers and the Service Unit Management Team. The role also involves compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and editing components of the budget related to personnel salaries and benefits. This position reports directly to the Administrative Officer and is a permanent, full-time role with no travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the Service Unit's annual budget.
  • Coordinate the formulation of budget projections and adjustments.

  • Maintain fund control procedures with a commitment register of Object Classes for each department.
  • Prepare diverse financial status reports to disclose discrepancies affecting budget implementation.
  • Compile, review, analyze, and edit budget components related to personnel salaries and benefits.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957.
  • Seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Background investigation required, including a pre-employment fingerprint check.
