About the position

The Budget Analyst position is located in the Office of the Administrator (AO) within the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This role involves serving as a senior analyst and Deputy Senior Budget Officer, responsible for implementing provisions of the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) and resolving acquisition issues in collaboration with various stakeholders. The position requires regular physical attendance at the duty station in Washington, DC, while also offering some work-from-home and flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior analyst functioning as the Deputy Senior Budget Officer for the Office of the Administrator (AO).
  • Implement all or part of the provisions of the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA).
  • Resolve acquisition issues in coordination with Program Managers, Contracting Officers, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare official reports for EPA's technology programs and recommend new and innovative approaches to ensure effective funds control.
  • Develop, review, and strengthen management controls to safeguard programs.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level, including executing budgetary resources and performing funds control activities.
  • Knowledge of budgetary regulations, protocols, and procedures.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to provide leadership and develop, implement, and administer budget allocation procedures.
