About the position

The Budget Analyst position is located in the Office of Antiterrorism Assistance, Training Directorate, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State. The role involves providing a wide range of financial and resource management services to support budget planning and execution, financial monitoring and analysis, contract oversight, and management of staffing requirements. The position is permanent and full-time, with occasional travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, review, and analyze execution of assigned budget activity to determine accuracy and resolve variations from spending plans.
  • Produce financial documentation such as reports showing the status of receipts, obligations, expenditures, and trend analyses.
  • Approve expenditures and obligations to ensure compliance with budget and program requirements, ensuring funds are correctly allocated and financial records reconciled.
  • Provide technical evaluations and recommendations to program managers regarding staffing, procurement, funds, and contractor services.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, including managing and monitoring budgetary and financial management activities, reviewing procurement requests, and executing funding and financial planning.
