About the position

The Budget Analyst serves as a key advisor within the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) Headquarters, focusing on financial planning, budgetary services, and program analysis. This role involves providing independent analysis and advisory services to the Resource Management Directorate and Store Operations staff, ensuring effective management of resources and budget programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Budget Analyst in the Resource Management Directorate, Budget and Manpower Division, Store Execution Branch.
• Provide financial planning, budgetary services, and funds control to the Resource Management Directorate and Store Operations staff.
• Analyze cost, schedule, and work performed, preparing summary reports for internal and external use.
• Prepare and present Government briefings concerning cost status and projections.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent, including analyzing, evaluating, planning, developing, and executing budgetary programs.
• Knowledge of policies, regulations, objectives, goals, precedents, and guidelines of budget formulation.
• Ability to develop near and long-term resource requirements and associated resource plans.

Nice-to-haves

• Ph.D. or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
• Experience in federal service or military budget management.
