About the position

The Budget Analyst position within the Department of Agriculture's Working Capital Fund Division (WCFD) is responsible for assisting in the development and formulation of operating budgets for various activity centers. The role involves providing technical advice on budget matters, ensuring proper financial system implementation, and analyzing budgetary information to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on budget and ensure proper financial system implementation.
• Resolve encountered work problems and deviations.
• Plan and carry out assignments in conformance with established budget practices.
• Analyze and communicate information regarding budgetary matters.
• Evaluate policies, regulations, and alternative methods of obtaining and distributing funds.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status is required.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal Service, or a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an equivalent combination of specialized experience and higher-level graduate education.
• Experience in budget formulation, presentation, and execution.
• Ability to coordinate with program managers to ensure proper documentation of submissions.
• Proficiency in utilizing office automation systems and various software for office needs.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
