About the position

The Budget Analyst position at the Department of Defense involves reviewing and analyzing legislation related to the OMA appropriation, performing financial and analytical functions, and supporting independent analysis of program and budget data. The role is critical in making recommendations to Army leaders regarding current year OMA issues, ensuring effective management of financial resources.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze authorization and appropriation legislation for impact to the OMA appropriation.
  • Perform a wide range of financial, analytical, and management functions related to the day-to-day management of the OMA appropriation and supported organizations.
  • Support independent analysis of program, budget, and financial data as they relate to OMA; make recommendations to ASA (FM and C) and Army Leaders on current year OMA issues.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Level 2 Financial Management certification is required.
  • Experience in data analytics and financial management, including analyzing large amounts of data and identifying risk exposure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with budget administration and financial management analysis.
  • Strong written communication skills.
