The Budget Analyst position at Mercy University plays a crucial role in assisting the Budget Director with the processing and maintenance of the University's annual salary and operating budgets. This position involves a variety of administrative, technical, and service-oriented tasks that are essential for the effective financial management of the institution. The Budget Analyst will be responsible for the confidential development and reconciliation of the annual salary, benefit, and operating budgets, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. In collaboration with the Human Resources department, the Budget Analyst will work closely in the NeoEd hiring process to ensure that job listings are posted correctly. The role also includes maintaining a tracking process for salary budget changes in the HR Banner system via position control, as well as inputting, monitoring, and tracking budget changes throughout the fiscal year. The Budget Analyst will serve as a liaison with budget owners to clarify and confirm budget transfers, and will participate in the preparation of actual expense versus budget variance reports for the Business Affairs Committee. Additionally, the position involves conducting revenue and expense analysis of program and course fees, preparing journal entries, and approving EPAF requests. The Budget Analyst will also liaise with IT regarding the implementation and maintenance of budgeting modules within the Banner system, documenting all related budgeting processes. The role requires the preparation of academic revenue and cost analysis, as well as performing other duties and projects as assigned. The successful candidate will manage their time and resources effectively to meet established goals, demonstrate flexibility in completing work assignments, and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as the Budget Analyst will interact with various stakeholders within the university community.
