About the position

The Budget Analyst position at Camp Lejeune, NC, supports the Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) by assisting in the planning, management, and execution of daily budget operations. The role involves a variety of financial functions, including internal control support, financial evaluations, audits, and maintaining compliance with financial management standards. The analyst will also be responsible for formulating budgets, resolving financial discrepancies, and ensuring readiness for financial audits.

Responsibilities

  • Assist MARSOC in planning, managing, and executing daily budget operations.
  • Support the Internal Control Program and Financial Management Training.
  • Provide reports and develop budgetary policies and procedures.
  • Support the formulation of the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) budget.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) compliance.
  • Utilize USMC financial management and accounting systems effectively.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant, progressive experience in budget analysis or financial management.
  • Expert level proficiency in GCSS-MC and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Current experience with USMC financial management automated information systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of/proficiency in SharePoint.
