The Budget Analyst position within the Department of the Treasury's Large Business and International (LB&I) Division is a critical role that involves evaluating, reviewing, and monitoring resource justifications, allocations, and usage for assigned program areas. The analyst will focus on ensuring conformance with the Division's business plan, IRS strategic plan, and performance measures. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of budgetary processes and the ability to provide periodic analyses of resource needs, usage, and key budget issues. The analyst will identify and respond to budget issues, assess the financial impact of management decisions, and research and analyze budgetary and financial issues concerning assigned program areas. In addition to these responsibilities, the Budget Analyst will develop, review, and analyze resource proposals for Division programs. This includes coordinating budget submissions and justifications, and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer to facilitate responses to Treasury, OMB, and Congressional staff regarding financial plan resource matters. The role also involves providing technical advice and assistance on the status of budget submissions, reviewing changes, and assessing the program impact of budget cuts or legislative changes. The position offers career progression opportunities, allowing for non-competitive promotions as the analyst gains experience and meets performance expectations. The successful candidate will be expected to work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the possibility of alternative work schedules or telework arrangements. The position is not remote but may involve occasional travel for business-related purposes. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their qualifications through a thorough evaluation process, which includes a review of their experience, education, and performance.
