About the position

The Budget Analyst at Thompson Gray Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) by developing, monitoring, and analyzing budgets. This position involves collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate budget planning and resource allocation, while providing financial guidance and support. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial management principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets for the organization.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate budget planning and allocation of resources.
• Provide financial guidance and support to management and staff.
• Advise management and senior level engineers on financial management regulations and guidelines.
• Work closely with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to ensure funding is processed and tracked.
• Provide input into the use of current and proposed automation systems for funding documents and actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Engineering, Education, or Science.
• Minimum of 5 years of DoD experience as a Budget Analyst.
• Experience with GFEBS, MIPRs, 1095s, etc.
• Proficient in budget development, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
• Proficiency in using financial software and tools, such as Excel and budgeting software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in preparing comprehensive financial reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced telework environment.
