About the position

The Budget Analyst position at the Nchez Trace Parkway involves providing expert consultation and leadership in budget formulation and execution within the National Park Service. The role is a detail assignment not exceeding one year, allowing the employee to maintain their current position, grade, and salary while contributing to the financial management of the parkway. The analyst will be responsible for preparing and justifying fund allocations based on various analyses to ensure effective financial management and equitable distribution of resources.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant and advisor in all phases of budget and related financial management matters.
  • Provide leadership to managers of budget programs in budget formulation and execution.
  • Formulate and execute broad financial plans and policies affecting the authorization and use of funds.
  • Prepare, recommend, and justify the allocation of funds based on analysis of budget presentations, legislative directives, workload analyses, and financial studies.
  • Direct the preparation of fund allocation charts, tables, and summaries, along with detailed instructions regarding the use of funds.

Requirements

  • Experience in budget administration and financial management.

  • Strong leadership skills to guide budget program managers.
