The Budget Analyst position at the University of South Florida (USF) is a full-time role within the Business & Finance division, which is dedicated to supporting the university's mission through high-quality financial services. The Budget Analyst will collaborate with departmental leaders to develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets, providing strategic financial planning and analysis to support both short-term and long-term financial goals. Additionally, the analyst will assist departments in preparing budget proposals, ensuring they align with university policies and strategic objectives. The position also involves preparing detailed financial reports, forecasts, and trend analyses for departmental leadership, conducting regular financial reviews to assess budget performance, and developing financial models to support budget planning and resource allocation. As a liaison between the CFO's office and various departments, the Budget Analyst will facilitate effective communication and collaboration, presenting budgetary information and financial analyses clearly and concisely. Furthermore, the analyst will ensure compliance with university policies, state regulations, and external funding requirements, developing and maintaining budgetary policies and procedures to enhance financial governance and control. Staying current with industry best practices and regulatory changes is crucial, as the analyst will advise on necessary adjustments to budgeting processes and perform other duties as assigned.
