About the position

The Budget Analyst position involves participating in planning and program management sessions to ensure resource allocation aligns with the Bureau's strategic goals. The role requires making recommendations to improve responsiveness to overseas posts regarding program funds, identifying solutions to funding issues, and coordinating with senior staff on funding requests. The position is available at the GS-12 and GS-13 levels, with varying responsibilities and supervision levels based on the grade.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in overall planning and program management sessions with senior staff.
  • Makes recommendations to improve responsiveness to overseas posts regarding program funds.
  • Identifies solutions to funding problems and increases efficiency based on funding requirements.
  • Coordinates with senior program managers on funding requests to ensure proper accounting in budget submissions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level for GS-12 applicants.
  • 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level for GS-13 applicants.
  • Experience formulating foreign assistance budget requests.
  • Experience advising senior leadership on foreign affairs policy.
  • Experience reviewing and processing foreign assistance agreements.
