About the position

The Budget Analyst at ROSS Companies is responsible for managing the annual budgeting process, maintaining budget and rent model templates, and conducting financial forecasting and analysis. This role requires collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the budget process including set-up, data input, functionality, upload, and support with budget spreadsheets and rent models.
  • Assist Regional Property Managers (RPMs) with preparation and systems-related support for ownership and asset management software products and tools.
  • Manage on-demand reforecasting of financial performance and coordinate with RPMs to produce financial projections.
  • Prepare various analyses to monitor financial performance against budget at property, portfolio, and ownership levels.
  • Keep track of property assessments and appeals as it relates to budgeting and forecasting.
  • Monitor property loan terms and escrow requirements related to budgeting and cash flow impacts.
  • Analyze monthly utility usage and performance against budget expectations and develop year-over-year usage analysis.
  • Prepare specialized reporting and analysis for internal and external partners as needed.
  • Complete initial operating budgets and modify rent models for acquisitions, coordinating with the VP of Acquisitions and Accounting Department.

Requirements

  • College degree required, Accounting degree preferred.
  • 5+ years accounting or financial planning and analysis experience.
  • Experience with preparation and review of budgets and analysis of expenses.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent team building and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, including use of advanced formulas.
  • Basic understanding of VBA is beneficial but not required.
