Responsibilities

  • Participate in long- and short-range financial planning and budgetary authorizations.
  • Engage in discussions on budget planning, management, policies, and procedures with teams and committees.
  • Develop, review, and edit detailed analyses, estimates, proposals, and justifications for annual funding needs.
  • Formulate budget estimates and provide guidance to local managers and supervisors.
  • Execute budget activities and operations, ensuring compliance with funding limitations.
  • Extract and analyze budgetary data to support financial management.
  • Review annual and multi-year performance and recommend procedural changes as necessary.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, including duties such as analyzing obligations and expenditures, preparing budget estimates, and compiling financial data.
  • Alternatively, a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • A combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education that totals 100% of the requirement.
