About the position

Torch Technologies is currently seeking a Budget Analyst to support Government Program Lab Managers. The candidate will be responsible for assisting both government and contractor leads with various budget-related tasks, including preparation, reporting, travel and material tracking, CDRL administration, and cost/schedule variance analysis for multiple programs that support various government customers. The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge and capabilities in performance management, organization, problem-solving, analysis, adaptability, self-motivation, reliability, and accountability. The Budget Analyst will provide comprehensive support related to budgeting, reporting, travel and material tracking, and cost analysis across multiple labs. This role involves collaborating with government leads and lab managers to develop and establish baselines while monitoring and managing the commitments associated with each program to ensure successful execution of goals within program requirements. The analyst will also track hours by employee and labor category, including assessing burn-out dates, and prepare and maintain presentation materials for top-level management regarding budgets for multiple labs. Additionally, the analyst will analyze budget performance to determine if desired results are being achieved and, if not, provide insights into variances and work towards potential solutions in a timely manner. Estimating future budgetary needs and managing CDRL administration are also key responsibilities of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support related to budgeting, reporting, travel and material tracking, and cost analysis across multiple labs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain close relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently and take a proactive role to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Must possess a final security clearance.
